Martin Smith

I am a local education authority governor and have responsibility for the implementation of healthy schools policy. I also have a particular interest in mathematics and science.
I am a retired chartered civil engineer and a former director of an international management company. One of my responsibilities was for the training of young engineers to attain their professional qualification.

I have lived in Solihull for over 40 years. I am married with four grown up children, all of whom were educated at local schools. I served as a magistrate in the community for many years.

My hobbies include sport, especially cricket, charity work, antique map
collecting and canal boating.

My aim as a governor is to ensure that the school provides its pupils with a happy fulfilling educational experience coupled with a high level of
academic achievement.
