Access to Site
The vehicle gates offering access to the school are open from 6.30 am – 8.30 am and from 4.00 pm onwards. The pedestrian gates are open from 6.30 am – 8.50 am and from 3.15 pm onwards. Outside of these times access to the school site is only possible by using the intercom and the gates and being granted access by the school office.
Children will not be released from school before 3.30 pm without a request in writing and they must be collected from school by a nominated adult.
Where children are brought or collected by car, parents should park well away from the entrance to the school in the interests of safety. We will notify Police of any inconsiderate or illegal parking. Parents will not be able to park on the school premises to either bring or collect their children - unless they are helping in school during the school day, collecting a child following a school club activity or have made prior arrangements with the Headteacher due to exceptional circumstances.
If a child is being met by a responsible adult at 3.30 pm, and this does not happen, he/she must come back into school and tell a member of staff what has happened. The child will be looked after in their classroom by their class teacher until 4.00pm, after which time they will be taken to Swallows and a charge made to parents. Children in Years 3 & 4 should be collected from school by a responsible adult but collection of children in Years 5 & 6 is at parents’ discretion.
